So, I _want_ to like it, and, I think if they can fix their issues with software updates then it'd be a 5 star.

The good: much smaller and sleeker design then other Z wave locks on the market. And the 800 chip shows with great response time and range for control. The physical buttons are great when it's darker outside (compared to competitors that use a touch-like panel). Battery life so far seems good as well (writing after ~3 months of usage)

The bad: the stock firmware does not make it easy to add new user codes remotely. With home assistant, you actually need to call a GET call using command class 99 (user code) to the device for it to first "make" a code slot. Then you can call the set lock usercode action to actually set a code. They provided a beta firmware, but this firmware has its own issues: the door sensor is _very_ laggy, and fast door open/closings mean it won't even change at all. Also, after updating, your lock will get into a weird state where it doesn't report at all, requiring you to remove a battery and put one back in (I have had to do this twice so far, but only once per lock I own). Another issue I've found is if the lock jams (which if you have old doors it can happen often as it is sensitive), then it can almost get "reversed" where locking via the button retractable the bolt, and entering the code to unlock extends the bolt.

So, they need to spend a bit more time making the lock/unlock more robust, and greatly improve the door sensor or lock state response time so it can be properly used for automations.

I almost took a star off, but I kept it at 5 because this is genuinely a nice lock with a lot of smart home features.

First the Bad:
1. The wire comes out of the front face, right at the center of the spindle, and passes under the locking part of the lock, WHY WOULDNT YOU PUT IT OVER THE TOP!!! where it can't interfere with the deadbolt slide mechanism. If it touches the turning part of the band mechanism, it can interfere. Could have easily been moved and designed the other way.
2. The deadbolt is very temperamental, almost touchy.
3. The flat blade to activate the latch, why did you put a notch? why can't I just use it with my
already there shaft cylinder?
4. Weird looking keys that you probably never need.
5. No manual code setting once you pair it with the smart home.

The Good:
1. Actual smart home connectivity and the preferred way to manage it.
2. Came with batteries.
3. Smart lock, the oh you won't forget lock.
4. A sensor to figure out if the door is closed or not through the app...nice.
5. Good build quality. Security is secondary on any of these smart locks, they are not high security, they make it not easy.
6. The z-wave support is really nice.
7. Matte black looks good.

It isn't cheap, but I like it, my wife likes it, and it replaced our coded name brand from the big box store version.

This is a heavy-duty smart lock. It feels really well made when you handle it. It
comes with everything you need to install it and installation was simple. If
following the instructions, there shouldn't be any issues with the deadbolt lining
up and locking properly. Pairing with the app went well and I haven't had any issues
with it disconnecting or glitching. I haven't tried to pair it with Alexa yet, but
hoping that will be seamless as well. For the price, you are getting a solid, nice
working lock.

I previously installed a different brand of "smart lock" but it had some problems.
The fingerprint reader never worked 3 days after programming; the keypad would
register double entries, causing me to mess up the combination; and the bolt drive
motor was very weak and couldn't power through closing if the door wasn't also
pushed in while it was locking. Worst of all, after defeating your attempt to get in
3 times, it would just lock you out. No key, no entry. So I started looking for a
smart lock that was better designed and better built. I do have some z-wave devices
already, so I figured I would give this lock a try. It arrived in good shape.
Looking it over, it all appears to be of good quality. I gave the instructions a
once-over and installed the unit without any hassles. I also took the opportunity to
tune the door itself up and made sure everything aligned well and moved smoothly. My
son initially set up the z-wave system and was familiar with it, so I let him handle
that part. It's been installed for a couple of weeks now, and I like it very much. I
don't miss the fingerprint reader, as mine never worked reliably anyway. The keypad
works well, and with the z-wave functions, it's really not necessary. It feels solid
and secure. I have had zero issues with the bolt driving in and out as I did with
the old lock. I'm very happy with this item and would get it again.

Fantastic. Works great with Home Assistant. Great battery life.
